Sorry, I'm back again!
I've noticed that I can only include (call) one activity on each webpage. I think it would be very useful to be able to include, or call, two or more activities on the same page. We represent 50-odd schools and each one has a different pricing system, so I'm used to updating their prices each year - no problem. On the other hand, we offer just two travel insurance policies for our clients, and they need to be included with the information for each school. The way EasyEstimates is set up at the moment I fear that I will have to include the insurance as part of the activities/estimate pages devoted to each different school, and this means updating the insurance prices (as many as 30 different variations) on all of those 50 activities - i.e. changing as many as 30 prices, with exactly the same changes, on 50 different pages/activities. If I could call two activities on the same page I could call first the activity including the estimate for the school's services, which I would have to update every year, as I already do, and then a second activity for our clients to work out their estimate for travel insurance, which would be the same one for every page - and therefore I would have to update it only once, not 50 times! The other possibility - which I think I saw someone suggest on this forum, but can't find now - is the ability to copy lines, including table lookups, from one activity to another (I think they asked if a list of prices could be copied from one activity to another). As always, thanks in advance for consideration of this request, Terry. |

A reasonable suggestion, I'll consider it for the next release. It seems like copying lines would be more useful because that would enable creating an overall total, in your example both school services and insurance.

I think you're right in most cases, but it would have to be possible (I think) to copy a block of lines (I'm thinking of the three lines that comprise a table lookup), including all the different price values included. As I said in my original message, the last line of the table lookup contains about 30 different values for different prices.
Thinking selfishly I'd rather have the ability to call more than one activity on the same page - that way I'd only have to update the thirty prices once in a separate activity. If I had to copy lines, I'd have to copy three lines to about 50 different activities (one for each school). But, any solution before November (when I start updating prices for 2006) would be welcome! Thanks once again, Terry. |
